Olav and Mildred Fosdal purchased the bakery from Hans Romnes, who operated the Home Bakery. Home Bakery received its name because the family lived in the upstairs of the bakery. The year was 1938.


After graduation from High School in 1953, Olav and Mildred's son, Gerry, became a full time employee at the bakery.  He married Beverly in 1963 and they took over the business in 1976.  Gerry was in charge of production and Beverly handled the bookkeeping. The Fosdal's added the coffee shop and many wholesale accounts in 1978.  In 2005, Joseph Crubaugh, (a 3rd generation baker from Dodgeville, WI), purchased the bakery after many years of working for Gerry and Bev.


The success of the Fosdal Bakery is due to the dedicated and talented staff who have been working there for many years. Fosdal Home Bakery is known throughout the county for the variety of quality products and friendly service.  The bakery is very humbled and takes great pride in maintaining this reputation.

 

While we continually strive for innovation at Fosdal Bakery, we’re still making our creations the way grandpa used to...and he'd be pretty proud of that.
